In The Wake Of: Enhanced Concert Series ft. Eric Prydz

You want to go outside but you can't. Not yet. The temperature is sweltering, and thousands of bodies are pressed against you, arms up, then down, limbs flailing, hair flying, heads bobbing. Everyone is in complete unison, and you begin to feel like you might need some air.

Instead of going outside, you calm down and zero in on the music, listening for the next song to mix in. The buildup is coming, and you know it's going to be good. The sub-bass fades out for 16 counts as the progressive synths wind themselves tighter and tighter. You hear an alarm-like buildup that lasts for a straight up fortnight as the drums kick into a running stride. As the pitches soar higher and higher, they seem to fade in and out. Is that Prydz's doing or is it in your mind? What song is he even playing anymore? You're slightly confused at what track you're even listening to but at this point you don't care. You've forgotten how hot it was; all you want to know is what song is going to come up. For some reason, your brain starts firing fight-or-flight responses and tells you a little bit of air might be a good idea. Holy crap, how long has this buildup been going on for?

But as soon as you excuse yourself to your friends and begin to take your first steps towards the exit, you hear the beautiful syncopated piano keys of "Pjanoo." Several thousand people erupt in a united cheer and thousands more arms fly up in the air. You've completely forgotten why you were even considering heading to the exit.

If you went through a scenario like this during the Eric Prydz show this past weekend, it appears that we were in the same boat. This legendary man has not been on the continent for four whole years. So getting some fresh air can damn well wait. When Eric Prydz takes the stage at a sold out show, we're going to listen.

The official roster for the evening included our very own Tara Brooks, Jeremy Olander (the production whiz who's been training under Prydz's personal guidance) and Arty, who on this special night had THE most difficult job in the musical world: closing for Mr. Prydz.

So for those who were at the show, thank you for joining us. It was a truly epic night and we can't wait to host the presence of Mr. Prydz once again!
