Purple Disco Machine & Boris Dlugosch “L.O.V.E.”

With the recent track record he’s had, Purple Disco Machine is well past the point of having to prove he has the goods. But just in case you still weren’t sure, the tenacious tunesmith has teamed up with fellow German comrade Boris Dlugosch on “L.O.V.E.” Landing on Defected next week, the collab sees these two house cohorts slip into your personal space with a carnal cut that is equal parts hot and heavy. Between the jerking keys, a wailing vocal delivery, and slow-strutting basslines, this one will put you over the boiling point.

Were you impulsive on this track, or did you have a sketch in mind before you started?
Purple Disco Machine: We met up for this track for two days in my studio in Dresden, and as we started to work on it, we listened to a lot of old funk classics to get in the right mood. But after a few hours, Boris and I were totally in LOVE with this track.

Was there one particular moment in the recording or mixing process of this track that made you feel as though you were creating something pretty damn special?
Yes. Usually during the production process, I feel if this can be huge or not—especially when we went to the studio on the second day and listened to what we made the day before. We looked at each other with huge smiles on our faces. That was the moment we knew that it could be a big record.

Describe the best setting/activity to hear this track.
In my opinion, you can listen to it both at home, relaxed on your couch, and dancing in the club.

How does this production reflect your personality/ethos?
The track perfectly describes how I try to live. It’s an absolutely positive song that can make the people happy and bring a smile to their faces. This one is all about love. To say it in two words, it’s house music.

Have you played this one out in any of your sets? If so, what was the response?
Of course. Before we sent this out to our label and our management, we tried this a few times in the clubs around the world, and the reaction was always amazing. It was a bit like the people knew this track already, and that’s always a good sign.

If this song were a color, what color would it be?
Definitely PURPLE.
