If you like Tiësto, check out Audien, Ben Gold and Jason Ross

Tiësto

The superstar DJ of all superstar DJs will surely draw one of the largest crowds over the weekend. Though he’s abandoned his trance roots in favor of EDM, his reach has only grown to worldwide commercial success and notoriety. Get a taste of the Club Life with Tiësto with a veteran set sure to make you jump. The Grammy-winning DJ/producer rocks the festival anthems and will likely include his forthcoming collaboration with Oliver Heldens, “Wombass,” out November 9.

Audien

From: Mystic, CT
Releases on: Armada, Black Hole, Flashover Recordings
Why we like him: Since grabbing the attention of Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings with his first single, “Rise & Shine,” 23-year-old Nate Rathbun has successfully held his own among the veterans. From trance to progressive house, he’s remixed the likes of Arty, Armin van Buuren, Tommie Sunshine and more; he’s even remixed the likes of pop giants Michael Jackson, Nick Jonas and Van Halen. Audien won the peak position on the US dance charts with his single “Insomnia.”

Ben Gold

From: London, UK
Releases on: Goldrush, Garuda, Statement
Why we like him: For longtime members of the #TranceFamily, checking out Ben Gold for a spell should be on your EDC Orlando to-do list. A master studio engineer, Gold broke into the business at age 15 with an original track on the Trance Nation compilation. Champions of his music include all the greats such as Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold.

Jason Ross

From: San Diego, CA
Releases on: Anjunabeats, Mondo Records, LW Recordings
Why we like him: Originally trained in classical and jazz, musician Jason Ross switched gears when he first heard ATB’s “9PM (Till I Come)” and Darude’s “Sandstorm.” Producing his first electronic album at age 12, he found inspiration in the emotional depth of trance. Now a force in the progressive trance realm, his track “Burma” earned an uncharacteristic three consecutive weeks of plays on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy show by popular demand. The trio promptly requested more new music from Ross for their Anjunabeats label.

If you like Bassnectar, check out the Upbeats, TrollPhace and Dotcom

Bassnectar

If you see a flurry of hair flying in the booth, Bassnectar is in action. It’s only appropriate that he’s headbanging up there; his early musical influences were bands like Megadeth, Metallica and Nirvana, and he’s been known to remix and sample selections from the rock world. But Bassnectar doesn’t shy away from the melodic, with beautiful notes in “You & Me.” His latest album, Into the Sun, reached #46 on the US Billboard 200.

The Upbeats

From: Wellington, New Zealand
Releases on: Vision Recordings, Let It Roll, Blackout Music NL
Why we like them: Drum & bass duo the Upbeats formed when Jeremy Glenn wooed his school buddy Dylan Jones into the scene with mixtapes from Aphrodite and Mickey Finn. The pair started to write their own tracks by 2001. Being from New Zealand, their isolation propelled their uniqueness for some badass 180-BPM D&B.
Listen to this: For their latest EP, the Upbeats have teamed up with Noisia for Dead Limit.

TrollPhace

From: Los Angeles, CA
Releases on: OWSLA, Subquake Audio, Acid Rain Records
Why we like him: TrollPhace earned some internet fame when Skrillex mentioned him in a Reddit interview. Who wouldn’t be down with a DJ whose tagline is “1 dude. 1 beard. 1 bong.”? His music is violent, filthy, dark and aggressive for an intense take on dubstep melded with hip-hop. Datsik, Zeds Dead, and 12th Planet all fux with TrollPhace.
Listen to this: TrollPhace lights up the speakers with his collaboration alongside Bear Grillz, “Marijuana.”

Dotcom

From: Philadelphia, PA
Releases on: Buygore, Itom Records, Columbia/Epic
Why we like him: Chris Comstock, aka Dotcom, is here to blow the speakers with his combination of dubstep-meets-house and hip-hop/trap, as he’s released tracks that fall under all three umbrellas. The driving basslines and heavy sound, along with pop and punk melodies, set Dotcom apart.
Listen to this: Dotcom is giving away his recent track, “Click,” for free on his SoundCloud, so add that to your EDC Orlando road-trip playlist.

If you like DJ Snake, check out Snails, Slander and LOUDPVCK

DJ Snake

Thanks to his mainstream radio success across stations of practically every format—from dance to hip-hop and even whatever it is your mom listens to—French import DJ Snake keeps pumping out the jams you can’t miss. In fact, assorted variations of his collaboration with Major Lazer, “Lean On,” may just be the most popular festival go-to of the year. Prepare to “Get Low” and, of course, “Turn Down for What” with him and thousands of Headliners at EDC Orlando.

Snails

From: Montréal, Canada
Releases on: OWSLA, Mad Decent, Kannibalen Records
Why we like him: Snails has basslines so dirty you’re gonna need a shower. Dropping his first track in 2012, he’s garnered support from scene heavyweights Datsik, DJ Snake, Flux Pavilion and Kill the Noise. If you’ve never heard the phrase “vomitstep,” Snails is the introduction for a shellful of sound.
Listen to this: #FreeTheVomit is Snails’ EP to thank fans for the support. Nab it for free.

Slander

From: Los Angeles, CA
Releases on: Insomniac Records, EMI, Mad Decent
Why we like them: Slander, the production duo composed of Derek Andersen and Scott Land, got their start DJing for their fellow college brothers. As the electronic music scene grew in Orange County, CA, they ended up going from house heads into pioneering their trap style sound. Think gritty hip-hop beats melded with progressive dance music.
Listen to this: Slander created a live guest mix for Insomniac’s own Night Owl Radio, which is available as a free download.

LOUDPVCK

From: Los Angeles, CA
Releases on: So Much Dada, Mad Decent, Ultra
Why we like them: Kenny Beats and Ryan Marks met at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Both have impressive backgrounds, with Kenny getting his start via an internship with Cinematic Music Group and Ryan taking after his father, who was a songwriter. When the two combined forces, their productions took off on SoundCloud practically overnight. Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, A-Trak, Flosstradamus, and more all show love to LOUDPVCK.
Listen to this: Their latest EP, Botany, features collaborations with Travis Barker and Curtis Williams.
