From Singapore to South Africa, New Zealand to Denmark, and nearly everywhere in between, our Headliners represent a world of diversity and culture.

So far, fans attending EDC Vegas 2016 represent a whopping 41 countries, four continents and 32 languages. Headliners are flying into Las Vegas from destinations as far as Indonesia, and as remote as Anchorage, Alaska. They’re coming from the luscious coasts of Costa Rica, from the rolling green hills of Austria, and from the windswept cliffs of Ireland. They’re journeying from the pristine lakes of Switzerland, from the rainforests of Guatemala, and from the sun-kissed islands of Guam. And they’re all coming to have the absolute time of their lives Under the Electric Sky.

In the sixth edition of this series, Headliner Jake Gable from Oxford, England, talks to us about his big upcoming trek to Las Vegas. Instead of making their yearly pilgrimage to Ibiza (“Europe’s Las Vegas,” as he puts it), Jake and his friends have decided to hit up EDC for the first time. “It’s a decision I know we won’t regret,” he tells us, and we’d have to agree!

What are your expectations for EDC Las Vegas? Have you ever been to an American festival?
We have never been to an American festival before! For a few of us, this will be our first time in the United States. We can’t wait—America does everything bigger and better than the rest of the world! And we expect EDC Las Vegas to be no different. We’re expecting a total attack on the senses with bright lights, colors, loud music, and a vibe of peace and love in the air. We’re all there for the same thing: to gather Under the Electric Sky!

If you haven’t been to EDC before, how do you think the rave culture there will differ from the one you know/grew up in?
We have been to EDC UK for the last few years; we’ve actually been going since it started here in 2013. But the rave culture at EDC Vegas will be totally different—bigger, better, bolder, and brighter! The rave culture here is quite house-based, but I imagine the US culture to be much more EDM and bass-heavy, which we can’t wait for.

Who are you coming with? Do you know any other groups coming from the UK?
I’m from Oxford, and I’ll be with six friends who are from around London. We don’t know too many people from here who are coming—not a huge proportion of the UK has really woken up to the EDM boom, but so far we’ve already met a number of great people from around the world who will be attending via social media, and that’s what makes EDC so special. Everybody will be coming together from all around the globe for the same reason.

What’s the electronic music scene like where you live? Do you go to festivals a lot?
Yes, London is a great location for electronic music. I actually used to work for one of the biggest nightclubs/brands in London, and would regularly get to meet some of the DJs who played for us. Paul Oakenfold even allowed me to come behind the decks and DJ with him to a packed crowd one night, which was amazing! We tend to go to many festivals, like SW4 Festival, and especially Creamfields.

Now that the lineup is out, what are some sets you’re most excited to see?
It’s almost impossible to pick just a few from the amazing lineup, but Tiësto is the king and has always smashed it every time we’ve seen him. No party is complete without Tiësto! Above & Beyond will also be amazing; we were lucky enough to see them at Wembley last November for the Little Something event in honor of Jono’s sister, who sadly died from cancer. It was such an emotional night, and those guys bring such emotion to their sets, it’s beautiful. I also can’t wait for Eric Prydz—his production level is huge, and it will be amazing to be a part of those laser shows.
