Mendo Moves in With Spunky Tech Roller “Busto”
In the last five years, Steve Lawler’s Warriors party series has become a cornerstone of Ibiza, with clubbers always making sure to pencil in a stop when planning a trip to the White Isle. As the imprint gets everything in order for another star-studded season at Sankeys, they’ve roped in residents Leftwing & Kody and Mark Jenkyns to piecemeal exclusives from their respective circles for the forthcoming double-sided mix compilation, Warriors Season 5. The track list alone makes it worthy enough for your online shopping cart, featuring cuts from Max Chapman, Josh Butler, Jey Kurmis, Emanuel Satie, and the list goes on.
Playing on LW&K’s team is groove specialist Mendo, who gives up an animated number by the name of “Busto.” Marked by a playful undertow of percussive clanks and clunks, the spunky tech roller ticks all the boxes to be a certified door-buster. Before people break out their Shazam to identify the track in action, we’ve got the first play for your ears today. Also, Mendo sheds some light on his contribution below:
After 17 years of production, it’s always a pleasure to release music on such a great label as Viva Music that is, for me, one of the best of the business. I’m a big fan of Leftwing & Kody for years, and it’s an honor they’ve asked me for an original track for their compilation on Viva. I accepted immediately, of course, and produced “Busto,” an old-school one with a hypnotic atmosphere, particularly psychedelic, groovy sub-bass, and of course, heady vocals as usual from me.
Available June 10 via VIVa LIMITED.
