Awesome People We Met on Day 1 of EDC Las Vegas 2016
Wow, 20 years of EDC. A lot has changed since the first Electric Daisy Carnival went down in Los Angeles, yet some things will never change—we’re talking about just how awesome our Headliners have stayed throughout the years. They rule our world; it’s their unbridled enthusiasm that gets us up in the morning and what keeps us motivated to continue the party for the next 20 years—and beyond. Here are a few seriously awesome people we had the pleasure of chatting up on day one of EDC Las Vegas 2016. Can’t wait to see what day two brings. Until then…
Name: Steve
Hometown: Los Angeles
Number of EDCs: Fourth
What are you looking forward to most this weekend? Always Tiësto. I’ve probably seen him over 30 times.
What was your journey to EDC Las Vegas like? The travel was easy—3-1/2 hours. Not so bad, speeding a little bit. I love Las Vegas; I think it’s the perfect place for EDC to be. The EDC trailers that I’ve seen inspired my outfit; if it weren’t for the GTA trailer—“Help me, Obi-Wan”—I would not have done this. I saw it and said I need to be there and see him today dressed up like Boba Fett.
Name: Samantha, Desree

What are you looking forward to most this weekend?
Samantha: Having a great time with my best friends, and enjoying amazing music and the culture and all the love, and just being here with everybody.
Desree: Learning about the culture. Everyone seems so nice and welcoming, and I’ve only been here for a few minutes.
What was your journey to EDC Las Vegas like?
Samantha: It was extremely well thought-out. It’s my fifth year, so I helped my friend—it’s her first year. We went above and above every other year, because I’m so excited to have her here with me. It took me about a month and a half to get the outfit together.
Desree: My husband gave me this trip for my birthday, because he knew I wanted to come here really bad before we have a baby together, so I’m going to rage it up. I was completely shocked when he gave me the present. We had dinner, and he put an EDC bracelet around my beer for the surprise.

Ariana: What Lauren said—being here with great friends and experiencing EDC with everyone here.
What was your journey to EDC Las Vegas like?
Lauren: This year was actually super last-minute; I decided to come about a few weeks ago. My friend told me she was going, and I said all right, let’s go. So, I bought my ticket off some friends, got my outfits together, and here I am.
Ariana: We got here last night, and all we’ve been doing is looking forward to today. I’m super excited to be here, because I’ve never been to EDC in Vegas before. It’s a whole new world here in Vegas for EDC.
