Alex Justino Stirs “Beyond Feelings” Into Ethereal Bit of Brooding Techno

The most challenging part about launching a label is finding enough momentum to be taken seriously. Not Another may have been around for less than a year, but the budding Brazilian label has already managed to score three sensational EPs that lend the imprint’s namesake some undeniable merit. Beyond will be the fourth they issue, forged by cofounder Be Morais, who threads together three cavernous cuts—each signifying a breaking point in his artistic growth.

Jumping in on the action are three well-equipped remixers, including Sam Pauli, Shades of Light and Alex Justino. It’s the latter that has really rubbed us the right way, with the fellow native adding depth and detail to the lead cut, “Beyond Feelings.” Brooding and ethereal, his remix is one that draws on droning pads, driving drums, and a firestorm of swirling textures born for those deep and meaningful moments on the move.
