Emerging from New York City’s dynamic skate and graffiti scenes, DB Cooper has firmly established himself within Miami’s electronic dance music underground. Drawing inspiration from the raw energy of his NYC roots, DB’s move to Florida as a teenager saw him immersed in the iconic sounds of Miami Bass, Florida Breaks, and Electro, crafting a distinct sonic identity.
His productions, often hailed as secret weapons in the arsenals of DJs globally, echo his love for nostalgic rhythms and powerful bass-lines. These tracks have found homes on renowned labels such as FTP, Illeven Eleven, and Wile Out. Championed by contemporary luminaries like Amadeezy, Doctor Jeep, Anna Morgan, and Jubilee, as well as industry legends like DJ Icey, Krafty Kuts, and Tommie Sunshine, DB’s influence in the scene is undeniable. His debut EP, “Shady Palms”, released in 2023 on Barcelona imprint Planetaria Soundsystem, not only received critical praise but also clinched features like Beatport’s Featured Picks and Scuffed Recordings’ Scuffed Selects.
His tracks reach across oceans, featuring on platforms like RinseFM, NTS, and The Lot Radio, and echoing to the stages of global festivals such as Bass Coast, Ultra Music Festival, and Glastonbury. As a DJ, DB’s versatility shines, through his residencies on Miami Community Radio and ZenTripsFM, and his cornerstone residency at Miami party BreaksYo! since 2017, DB also is a mainstay of Rumble in the Jungle, a breaks-centric event series he co-founded to cultivate Miami’s burgeoning Jungle and DnB scene.
