UFO Project Beams Down Rip-Roaring Remix of “Get Low”
By the time you read this, the US will have a new president, one who is riding into office on a tsunami of negativity, low approval ratings, and protests. You’re going to need some good vibes. UFO Project is here with a rip-roaring take on “Get Low,” featuring Eva Lazarus, the latest garage-bass hybrid from UK veterans Stanton Warriors and NYC’s ascendant Tony Quattro.
Stanton Warriors (whose extensive remix credits include Boys Noize, Daft Punk, and Gorillaz) and Tony Quattro (who’s been keeping busy with soundtracks and remixes, including a raggafied banger for the Broad City soundtrack) last got together on 2015’s “Keep It Movin’.” On “Get Low,” Eva Lazarus’ garage vocals soar over a shuffling beat punctuated with deep bass. Spain’s UFO Project (who have been shaking up the scene with bin-rattling house bass) amplify Stanton Warriors’ UK garage roots and Quattro’s renegade bass with a pulsating rhythm that flips the original into a rousing stretch of skittering bass and breakbeats. How low can you go? For Stanton Warriors, Tony Quattro and UFO Project, as low as the bass allows.
