SCRVP & AG Bring on the Future Bass Shivers With “Close to Me”
Whether it’s the continued success of his MMXVAC imprint, or the way his remix of the Chainsmokers’ “Paris” continues to rack up the love with more than 3.3 million plays on SoundCloud, the Boston-born SCRVP can add being tapped as an Electric Forest Discovery Project performer to his press kit this year, as the fast-rising producer makes good on his promise that the best is still to come.
With previous releases on Buygore and Dim Mak, SCRVP teams up with AG for this dreamy slice of future bass that leaves no doubt as to why artists like Steve Aoki and Diplo are lining up to show SCRVP some love.
“Andrew (AG) and I created ‘Come 2 Me’ the first time we met, right after one of our MMXVAC staff meetings,” SCRVP tells Insomniac. “He is our graphic designer and an extremely talented upcoming producer. I hadn’t heard much of his music, but when he showed me an idea he had for a song he had, I fell in love with the vibe and vocals. Fast-forward a few hours, and ‘Close 2 Me’ was born.”
From the melodic shivers that the intro brings on, to the heart-wrenching vocals that ground the groove, it isn’t until the slow burn of the tune proper comes easing in that the subtle yet powerful chord progressions keep this one bubbling from top to bottom. Keep your eyes on this one, as SCRVP is here to stay.
