Bonnie X Clyde Pull Out the Big Guns on ‘Wanted’ Remix EP for Insomniac Records
The total body count on the release is 11. All six offerings from the original EP have been aided and abetted by their trouble-making homies, including reworks from Jameston Thieves, SWAGE, Ben Maxwell, Landis, and more. They gave us the jump on the well-rounded remix EP when they strolled through to Insomniac HQ earlier in the week to livestream the listening sesh to all of their Ride or Dies. Now with it being completely on the loose and available on Insomniac Records, we chased down a few of their accomplices to have them speak on their involvement.
Truth x Lies: We’re really excited to unveil our new Bonnie X Clyde remix to the world! We strove to bring a bassy, summery vibe to this massive anthem, so we hope you guys like it. Huge thank you to the team at Insomniac Records for selecting us for this release!
Convex: I had a blast diving into this remix for my good friends Bonnie X Clyde, and I’m proud to say that it’s one of my favorite remixes I’ve done. I really tried to craft a different vibe than the original but keep Bonnie’s awesome voice at the center of the tune. I think this song is a great representation of my style, in that it combines my love of multiple genres and fuses them into one unique soundscape. Big thanks to Insomniac and the BXC team for letting me hop on this awesome remix pack.
Landis: Definitely had a good time with this one. I met Bonnie X Clyde during Miami Music Week, and when they hit me up to remix “Bass Jam,” I knew I could do a fresh take on it!
Shndō: When I first heard BXC’s Wanted EP, “Bass Jam” was that song that really jumped at me and said, “Shndō, you need to add your weirdness to it.” So, I decided to remix it and have some fun! “Bass Jam” is such a dope song, though, because it takes me somewhere, and whenever a song does that, it’s a winner in my book!
Pixel Terror: We were “hooked” when we heard the vocals, so when given the opportunity to remix the song, we knew we had to bring it. We experimented with some new sounds and came up with one of our favorite projects, so it’s rad it was for our friends Bonnie X Clyde. We couldn’t be more stoked to be acknowledged alongside so many dope acts and different musical styles.
PURGE: We heard a melody out of the unintentional vocal chops and decided to make that the driving lead in the drop. We add our unique percussions and a thick bassline to give it that PURGE vibe, despite it being such an uplifting track.
Part Native: We ended up remixing “Bass Jam” three times, and we chose to go a catchy house route. Gained a lot of experience working on this project, and we’re super glad we got the opportunity to do this.
