Bodhi Ventures Deep Into the Jungle on “Dtribe”
At the tail end of 2016, Bodhi hit all the right spots on their Outlook EP (you may recall us throwing some shine at this frisky little number), which helped build some hype around Huxley’s then-budding No Idea’s Original imprint. It was an all-around success for the Welsh duo, and they’re intending to follow suit with a whole new set of originals designed squarely for the dancefloor.
“We’re delighted to be hooking up with Huxley again for our second release on NIO,” Bodhi tells Insomniac. “The tracks have been working really well for us in the clubs, so it’s great to finally get them out there.”
While they may have been road testing all three cuts from Mitsu right underneath our noses, we’re still thrilled to be presenting the first spin of “Dtribe” a couple of weeks before it hits shelves. Bodhi takes us deep into the jungle with this tribal-tinged tune, where it’s the percussion that does all the talking. A vibrant drum section of shakers, bongos, and chants of the tribe is intensified through blaring sirens, before the weight of the rhythm comes crashing in like a monsoon. One thing’s for sure: Bodhi is definitely speaking our language here.
Available September 8 via No Idea’s Original.
