BIJOU and AViVA Drop Dark Ghetto-House Weapon “Run It Back”

Phoenix-based producer BIJOU, a ghetto house gun on the rise, has won our hearts again and again with his ability to fuse hip-hop, tech house, and big-room bass in a fashion that has swag to spare. It wasn’t long ago that he was collaborating with Dr. Fresch for a particularly hot release on Insomniac Records, but this week, he’s back with a brand-new single for L.A. imprint Pinnacle Collective, and we’re featuring it as our Track of the Day.

“Run It Back” sees BIJOU fusing gangster rap energy with peak-time power while teaming up with AViVA, who multiplies the G-vibe on the other end of the equation. There are some classic hip-hop synths and a suitably aggressive rap sample, though it’s after an early buildup one minute in that we meet the star of the show: a thundering bassline as powerful as a tank.

“Working on this single with Ben was a serious treat,” AViVA tells Insomniac. “Aside from the fact that this song absolutely POPS OFF in the club, the dissonant resonance of the lingering pad made it the perfect mid-October release.”

“‘Run It Back’ speaks for itself, in that the drop hits so hard that we need to run it back one more time,” adds BIJOU. “This record is heavy but also keeps that dark, forward-thinking G-house vibe that both of us are really known for. Stoked to finally get this one out with AViVA!”
