Friday night you’re in a club and you find yourself in the room where the energy is low, music is lifeless and so is the DJ crouched behind his laptop stiffly punching buttons. You notice the crowd is migrating to another room, the big room where John Beaver is playing, so you go along. Within moments you’re dancing with a stranger you’ve never met, singing and chanting with the crowd amongst you, the DJ is grinning from ear to ear handing out CDs like a rock star. You kick back for a moment and realize this was the “night out” you’ve been longing for months and that DJ John Beaver gave it all for you tonight . . .

If a DJ existed that could also have the title of “top dance music salesman of the year” it would be John Beaver . . . because you’re loving every track he plays. It’s not so much what he plays, it’s his quality mixing style combined with an abundance of positive energy flowing that draws you to him and the music. Inevitably, you find yourself hunting down and purchasing the tracks you heard him play to try and re-live the night over . . . even better you check out John Beaver’s schedule to find out when you can see him again. It’s your lucky day – John is San Francisco’s reigning DJ with residencies at SF’s premier nightclubs, 1015 Folsom and the Skills DJ Workshop with their 20,000 + person parties.

In 2000, John began his journey into the world of electronic music when he was handed a flyer for a SF rave party after a rock concert. Intrigued and fascinated by the prospect, he went to the infamous Cyberfest, the rave that converted John’s life forever. He walked out of the party not only knowing what his life calling would be, but that he wanted to be an integral part of the electronic music world. Distinctly knowing he wanted to be at the forefront of bringing people together for peace, unity, respect, love, and to celebrate life all with dance music. So he did . . .

After being a long-time devoted fan of mega DJ’s, Deepsky (J. Scott G. & Jason Blum), John was invited to an after party where he met J. Scott G. and the two immediately connected and became friends. Quickly discovering similarities in their passion for cross-genre music, it felt natural to fuse their talents and form the label Libra Rising Recordings. John & J. Scott G.’s aligned interests for hitting all electronic music fan bases translates into collaboration projects, touring and the Libra Rising Show Podcast (US) where they play trance, house, rock and every cross-genre in between.

How to be a successful DJ in today’s “everyone’s a DJ” world, is often hard to define but John hits it on the mark by not cornering himself into playing only specific genres. His sets are secured to rock universal crowds across the globe using Electro, House, Trance, the hottest and latest remixes and mashups.

It comes as no surprise that top industry leaders recognize John’s amazing talents. This is the reason why he’s been asked to personally open up for the likes of Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Darude, Thrillseekers, Blank & Jones and on and on . . .

The future for John is full and bright. Dynamic and driven, his dreams and goals to produce tracks have no limitations. While fans eagerly await his upcoming productions, he’s busy in the studio remixing, creating compilation CDs, collaborating and running the Libra Rising podcast all the while simultaneously handling his weekly DJ gigs. A man that will not rest, DJ John Beaver is pushing the boundaries of what a DJ can do – both technically and creatively. Now that’s progression.
