Awesome People We Met at Countdown NYE 2017 Day 2

New Year’s Eve is a time when people tend to have an extra glimmer of hope in their eyes. The promise of new opportunities and countless more memories waiting for them beyond the stroke of midnight is a powerful thing—strong enough to give many an almost blinding glow. On the second night of Countdown NYE, we knew the positivity would be surging over at the Resolution Tree, which is why we camped out there in order to pounce on a few ambitious Headliners while they hung up their handwritten dreams for 2018.

Fashion-wise, all of the fur and the glitter and the sequins—that’s the vibe.

I moved out to California and started going to all Insomniac events. I got to work with iHeartRaves and start promoting. I’m starting to really do what I love, and that’s the cool part.

Genevieve: I want to spread as much love as possible throughout the year. Not only that, but I want to spread the word of raving and how positive it can be.

Angel: I want to combine a lot of love with a lot of insanity. Maybe something good will come of it.

Angel: I don’t know, but that glitter rubbed off.

Genevieve: Meeting my girlfriend and being with my husband in a polyamorous relationship.

I’ve seen a lot of people wearing more flashy things, like kimonos and sequins. Everyone is going [beyond] different comfort levels and finding new fashion trends. I work for a fashion blog called EDM Fashionista, and we shout them all out. We try to inspire people that don’t know the right fashion.

What has been the most lit moment of the year?
Honestly, the EDC Orlando you guys threw down had the best vibes ever. I mixed in with my East Coast family that I’ve known forever and my West Coast family. I ran into Pasquale and Holly; it was absolutely lovely.

I am going to put my health first next year. I’ve been putting my company first, and it’s time to get back on the Alyssa love train.

“Like, why?” For me, thinking about the political landscape and everything that has happened has been horrible. Personally, it would be “Best year ever.” I got engaged, my company is doing great, I’m happy, and my family is wonderful. But society is like, what is happening?

That is so hard, because I feel like I help set trends in the fashion world, like these sequin skirts. I love that they are becoming a wide trend.

What has been the most lit moment of the year?
Zeds Dead’s set at Lost Lands. It was amazing. I listen to it all of the time still.
