DIY: Día de los Muertos Look
We’ve all seen the classic Día de los Muertos sugar skull look for Halloween, and while it may seem hard to re-create, it’ll be anything but if you follow the steps below. Both guys and girls are welcome to reinterpret our tutorial, and the more you tailor the look to suit your personality, the better! Día de los Muertos Makeup
Items needed:
•White face paint
•Black liquid eyeliner
•Pink eye shadow
•Yellow eye shadow
•Blue liquid eyeliner
•Purple liquid eyeliner
•Fake blood (optional)
•Foundation brush or sponge
•Two eye shadow brushes
Step 1
Apply white face paint evenly all over face with a foundation brush or sponge.
Step 2
Using your black liquid eyeliner, create two large circles around your eyes. Using an eye shadow brush, fill the circles with pink eye shadow.
Step 3
Using black liquid eyeliner, create petals around the circles.
Step 4
Using an eye shadow brush, fill in the petals with yellow eye shadow.
Step 5
Draw with the eyeliner:
• Five lines from the center of your forehead outward to your hairline
• “Webs” in between the five lines to make a spider web design
• Lines from the corners of your mouth going outward
• A teardrop shape on your nose (fill in afterward)
Step 6
Create small marks above and below the teeth line.
Step 7
Using your blue liquid eyeliner, create a cross on your chin and add designs to your cheeks as desired.
Step 8
Using your purple eyeliner, create designs on your cheeks and around your chin as desired.
Step 9 (optional)
Drip fake blood down your face for a darker, creepier effect.
Día de los Muertos Bra
Items needed:
•Black bra
•Red acrylic paint
•Five assorted silk flowers (the more colors, the better)
•Prop skull (ours lights up!)
•Black beaded trim
•Paintbrush
•Glue gun
Step 1
Glue one silk flower in the center of the bra and two on the upper left corner.
Step 2
Glue the two remaining silk flowers on the upper right corner of the bra.
Step 3
Glue the prop skull in the center of the top flower on whichever side you’d like.
Step 4
Glue the black beaded trim to the center of the bra.
