East-Coasters, you really brought it this past weekend. All of you who descended upon EDC New York (which, to be totally honest, was in New Jersey) from along the Eastern seaboard impressed us with your enthusiasm, your knowledge of the music, your sartorial flair, and your utter willingness to party with us for the nearly 24 total hours of the two-day festival. The weather was perfect, the music was on point, and y’all looked great.

With five stages, a bunch of carnival rides, and myriad art installations, there was a lot to see, do and experience at the event. Here’s a sampling of what went down at the festival, from various points of view.

While Swingin’

EDC is a whole lot of fun from the ground level and particularly epic when viewed from above, as demonstrated by these ladies dressed as sweet treats.

From the Front of the Line

These brightly dressed dudes were the very first people in line to get in on Saturday, having shown up hours before the doors opened to secure their prime position. When they finally got into EDC, they ran screaming across the festival in the direction of kineticCATHEDRAL with so much enthusiasm that we couldn’t help but smile as we watched them whiz by in a blur of neon and joy.

From on Top of the Damn Crowd

We don’t know if this chick is a cheerleader or an acrobat or just hella coordinated, but we bet the fest looked great from where she was standing. Shout-outs to everyone on the ground for keeping her on her toes and demonstrating the power of teamwork.

From Inside the 7Up Deck

These people got down like no one was watching—which is really what it’s all about, folks.

With Your Eyes Closed

Yes, EDC New York was a feast for the eyes, but as this pretty lady displayed, sometimes the most special moments at a festival happen inside the privacy of your mind.

From Your Phone

EDC was selfie city, and we were all living in it.

From Gina Turner’s Phone

The born-and-raised New Yorker also raised her phone up for a quick selfie during her Sunday afternoon set at circuitGROUNDS (her makeup was perfect, btw). Before taking the stage, she jumped on our golf cart for an interview, in which she shared parenting tips, talked about hitting NYC clubs with a fake ID back in the day, and dished about her husband, the one and only Laidback Luke.

From the boomboxARTCAR

The party surrounding our much-beloved boomboxARTCAR was consistently epic, with sets by a no-scrubs lineup curated by our own Troy Kurtz that included some of NY’s finest like Star Eyes, Jubilee, and Tony Quattro pulling in revelers all weekend long.

From Under the Dandelion Forest

This new art installation provided all y’all Headliners with some very necessary chill-out space. It may or may not also be showing up next month in Vegas. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

From the Stage During Crizzly’s Set

As it turns out, just hours after he dominated cosmicMEADOW, Crizzly did an impromptu DJ laptop set during the after-party we threw in the lobby of our hotel. He even brought snacks. Props to one of our favorite Texans.

From the Stage During Krewella’s Set

The ladies of Krewella brought out a drummer and guitarist for their rock-inspired Saturday evening set. Afterward, the sisters Yousef jumped on the back of our golf cart and answered a bunch of personal questions for the next installment of our ongoing series Golf Cart Confessions. We talked about desert parties; we talked about stress relief; we laughed a lot. Watch for the video—it’s coming soon.

From kineticCATHEDRAL

You know you give a hoot.

From the Chill-Out Space

Our production team threw down some AstroTurf in the parking lots, and y’all really made the most of it. Nice work.

From the Front Row

Not only are you completely engulfed in the sound and the energy from the front row; you also get the chance to take the very rare and much sought-after front row performer selfie!

From on Top of Someone’s Shoulders

A classic vantage point from which to experience live music.

From kineticCATHEDRAL

At sunset, while dressed as a postapocalyptic rabbit, because why the hell not.

From the Crowd, While Flosstradamus Destroys You With Bass

Seriously, that set was nasty, and we loved it.

While Suspended Upside-Down, in Midair

A must-try for the strong-stomached.

While in a Deep Embrace

We don’t know if these two have been together forever or met minutes before this photo was taken, but what we’re sure of is that there’s nothing quite like experiencing a festival with someone who lights your romantic fire.
