As the hordes flee from the cold nether regions of the north in search of the almighty sunshine, beaches and beats signaling that spring has arrived, we thought it an ideal time to touch base with the hard-hitting duo known as Kronology, who continue to make massive moves since winning the Insomniac Discovery Project only a few short years ago.

Recently signed exclusively to Technique Recordings, the Los Angeles-based duo (formerly known as Slogun and Ioh) are no strangers to getting those hands up and rave-booties shaking—as evidenced by their epic sets at Nocturnal Wonderland and EDC. They have even more hard-hitting shows lined up in the near future, including the Bassrush takeover of Exchange LA in direct support of Pendulum.

All of this is to say that if anyone knows their way around an epic intro and running drop, it’s these guys. With their Timelapse EP already stirring up the masses, the crew set aside some time to hit us with their top 10 cuts that are decimating the spring break masses from Hollywood to Miami.

Kronology & Divine Elements “Submerge”

This is the most upfront track on our new EP. We wanted to make a mix-friendly tune that would hit hard on the dancefloor and go well with multiple subgenres of drum & bass. We enlisted our good friends Divine Elements to help us show the world how Los Angeles does drum & bass!

L Plus “Going Down”

Classic L Plus material! Epic intro material followed by a massive bassline that’s too big to contain. We’ve been opening with this one quite a bit. This is why we love L Plus!

Neonlight “Heavy Bettie” VIP

Neonlight are some of our favorite producers right now—their sound is heavy, hard-hitting, but also very very funky, and perfect for the dancefloor. This VIP makes one of their best tracks even better, if that’s even possible! An essential in our sets.

2DB “Terrahawk”

This bassline is so big, it feels like it’s going to tear the speakers apart! Love when Drumsound & Bassline Smith become 2DB and make massive bangers like this.

Muzzy “Feeling Stronger”

We’ve been watching Muzzy grow as an artist for a while now, and his latest release is his best work yet. “Feeling Stronger” has a great melody, a really unique drop, and is just a great piece of music all around.

Kronology “You & Me”

This tune is special to us, since we stepped out of our comfort zone and went for something more melodic. We’ve flirted with liquid in the past and are both big fans of the style, so it was nice to try it out! It’s been getting serious support from Friction on BBC Radio 1, which has been a thrill for us, and we’re happy with the results.

Cyantific “High Water Mark”

A really strong track with one of the best basslines we’ve heard in a while. Really love all the live instrumentation that Cyantific worked into the tune.

Tantrum Desire “Shuffle”

We always love Tantrum Desire tunes, and this one has a particular groove that is unique and gets the crowd going every time. Super fun to mix, and can go with just about anything and sound great!

State of Mind & NYMFO “Put It On”

We’ve been playing this tune out since it was released, and it isn’t going anywhere! A masterful piece of dark dancefloor with a unique groove that kills every single time.

Calyx & Teebee “A Day That Never Comes”

Great work from Calyx & Teebee, as always—love the vocals and the sneaky bassline. This one’s a lot of fun to mix!
