Voted #3 on Trancepoduim Top 100 DJs in 2019 following Armin Van Buuren and Aly & Fila. Rocked the trance world with his debut artist album RUYA, Here’s everything you need to know about Ahmed Romel.

Born, raised and living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the maestro Ahmed Romel began his musical journey from youth. Always enthralled in the melodies he heard in songs, he frequently thought of ways of modifying and creating music. The nation he lived in which consisted of 122 plus nationalities aided him with a creative spark like no other. It wasn’t until 2003 that Ahmed began his journey; at that time he was introduced to a compilation disc containing the biggest trance hits of the time, from the heavyweights including Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren and so forth. It was this genre that struck him most and gave him exactly what he always longed for in music, intricate and focused in on melody and rhythm, without vocals and emotionally driven, trance music.

For a couple years starting in 2006, Ahmed worked tirelessly, teaching himself music theory, learning to work with various software and producing music. Though a highly successful computer scientist and an eCommerce manager for a retail and marketing company he found a second career as a trance producer. A couple of years later from 2011 to 2013, Ahmed began releasing tracks on the famed Blue Soho Recordings and various labels. Some tracks broke into the Beatport top 100 including various remixes on miscellaneous labels. In late 2013, he broke into the spotlight with his first mega hit and personally beloved track “Victory”, which was played on A State of Trance Radio and even included into the ASOT best of 2013 compilation.

It wasn’t until 2014 that Ahmed caught his real big break, the year that brought forth the grandeur of his production “Yarden”. The unique uplifting track was included in Aly & Fila’s “Wonder of the year 2014” top 30 countdown, claiming the number 23 spot. The epic track also peaked at number 8 on the Beatport top 100 trance charts, a huge success for Ahmed and his ticket into the spotlight in the trance scene. The following years were even bigger as he released a few more top 100 tracks, but in 2015, the birth of a new track called “Paradisum”, was released on FSOE. The track broke Ahmed’s personal Beatport trance chart record by fiercely climbing to the number 4 spot; it also gained a place on Aly & Fila’s “Wonder of the Year 2015”, claiming the number 18 spot this time. 2016 was time for a mega hit, Ahmed collaborated with Aly & Fila on the FSOE 450 anthem, titled “Kingdoms”. A massive track played across the airways on radio shows and across the festival circuit around the globe. Not only was this his third time on the “Wonder of the Year” countdown (this round for 2016), but it broke the previous spot number yet again with a number 4 placing. The epic track also hit a mega number 5 spot on ASOT’s “Top 25 Tunes of 2016”. The subject of successful releases continued into 2017, Dust and Echoes on FSOE broke all previous peak chart records for Ahmed, at number 3 on the Beatport trance charts and placing him in the “Wonder of the Year” countdown (2017) for a consecutive fourth year.

2018 brought more successful productions including a collaboration with Phillipe El Sisi titled “Till We Meet Again” and a remix for Aly & Fila’s “Rebirth”, another mega chart topper came in the form of the FSOE release “Typhoon” which peaked at number 4. On top of it all, the producer and DJ has hit the international festival circuit. He’s graced the world’s stages at Tomorrowland, various FSOE stops around the globe and Luminosity Beach Festival, just to name a few. He’s been voted into the Trancepodium top 100, gaining the #31 spot and the demand and praise keeps growing. In present day the maestro conducts his radio show, “Orchestrance” which airs each month on his Soundcloud and Youtube; it is a radio show which blends Ahmed’s love of melodies, the classical aspects of trance, the finest trance and a chance for the newcomers to be showcased. Ahmed aims to always bring new instruments and intricate melodies into his work as well as helping to usher in a new era of artists as time progresses.
