Harriet Jaxxon
Genre: Drum & Bass
Origin: United Kingdom
Feet rooted in the deepest foundations, eyes fixed firmly on the future, a selection that spans all eras in between; Harriet Jaxxon is one of the most exciting, unique and diverse drum & bass DJs to emerge in the UK in recent years.
Broadcasting on Capital FM every month and firmly established within London’s sprawling and intensely vibrant drum & bass network, by late 2017 Harriet had made enough noise to attract the attention of the scene’s biggest headliners, warming up for the likes of Andy C, Shy FX, Chase & Status, Sub Focus, Wilkinson and Dimension.
Like any classically trained DJ story, none of this is out of the blue. Schooled beyond her years, Harriet’s selection stretches from old school hip-hop to foundation jungle via classic UK garage. A dedicated DJ convert who ditched a promising career as a professional dancer for a life in beats, this is everything she’s pursued since her first ever drum & bass rave: from handing out flyers and sneaking into venues underage, to studying music technology and being a resident touring DJ for Ministry Of Sound.
These experiences have honed Harriet’s skills, ensured technical precision and an ability to read any type of crowd, all assets that have contributed to her rising drum & bass star status. Brought up on Roni Size and DJ Ron records by her jungle connoisseur father, she is a self-described music nerd who’s driven by joining the dots. Most importantly, Harriet guarantees the right tunes at the right time for the right people.
Harriet is currently deep in studio hibernation for the next logical progression as an artist. But she’s not in any hurry. Like any DJ who celebrates the full spectrum and culture and appreciates the artform, she’s in this for the long game; rooted in the foundation, destined for the future…
