Nom De Strip
Origin: None
Nom De Strip has built an impressive catalogue of original tracks and remixes since bursting onto the scene in 2009. Known for his Beatport smashes “I Can’t Believe”, “Techno Saturday”, and “The Nothing”, he also topped the Billboard dance charts with his production of international pop sensation Kylie Minogue’s “Skirt”. His hard-hitting electro style has been destroying dance floors around the world ever since.
Hailing from the fair town of Edinburgh, Scotland, one fateful day at the tender age of 16, a friend played Prodigy’s Music For A Jilted Generation and it was all over from there. He was always a musically talented lad and played piano and guitar before studying music production at Leeds College of Music and beginning to produce his own tracks.
He was writing music out of his grandparents’ spare bedroom and working in music shops when he wrote the original tune that would eventually become “Skirt”, produced for Kylie Minogue. This was also around the time he caught the attention of Rising label-head Chris Lake who saw promise and brought him out to his new studios in Los Angeles, California. The producer was greeted with massive support from Deadmau5 in 2012, leading to a string of remixes under the Mau5trap label before he signed an exclusive deal with Chris Lake’s Rising Music label in 2013.
Nom de Strip has been hailed as one to watch by industry heavyweights such as Deadmau5, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Wolfgang Gartner, Tommy Trash, Dada Life and Dirty South. He has successful releases on Mau5trap, Spinnin’, Ultra, Revealed, Mad Decent, Dim Mak, Fool’s Gold along with Rising and has toured internationally. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he continues to produce music, DJ, and plot to take over the world.
