Phino
Origin: United States
Gino Souto and Phiona Swanson form Phino, a mesmerizing dance music duo based out of Orlando, Florida.
Gino Souto is an American professional DJ and producer whose first interest in music came when he was nine years old. At the age of 19, Gino began DJing and was trained professionally by Master School Dances co-founder, Crazi-Ace. He also worked with multi-platinum artists the 69 Boyz and 95 South where he honed his Hip-Hop DJ background while concentrating on the fusion of EDM and hip-hop and within a couple of months became a part of T-Pain’s NappyboyDJ’s. Gino also established a name in Venice, a short-lived but very fruitful duo. Their music has received notable support from Andy Moor, Giuseppe Ottaviani and even the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten. However, creative differences led to the end of Venice and Gino has teamed with Phiona Swanson to form Phino.
Phiona Swanson (AKA DJ Phiona) is an American DJ who has maintained multiple residencies and most notably guest mixed on London’s top live radio station, Mystic Radio Live. Her DJ journey includes sets at celebrity functions, music video appearances, features at high-profile events such as the 2014 Cosmic World Festival, and most recently, a guest DJ spot on Season 2 of HBO’s “Ballers”. Born in New York to Jamaican and Swedish parents, Phiona was constantly around sounds and rhythms of different cultures. Her music influence expanded when her family moved to Florida, where the electric Miami nightlife she worked in while in college exposed her to even more genres of music. Though she went on to receive both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in accounting, she followed her new passion in creating musical experiences and believes her purpose is to make people happy with the power of music.
