Bassrush Massive Goes to the Next Level With a Compilation Album for the Ages
Upcoming Event
With one week to go until Bassrush Massive in SoCal, the squad over at Bassrush Records has been putting together an equally massive release that’s sure to be a future classic in its own right. Like the festival itself, the compilation album features a range of legendary producers alongside your favorite budding upstarts, with an output that spans the entire range of the bass music spectrum.
From the low-slung illness that Caspa brings to the fore, to the twisted, neuro-driven drum & bass that Phace and Mefjus have on tap, the 19-track compilation features a mix of bits from the Bassrush Records discography, as well as some specials cooked up exclusively for this project. Even with a quick glimpse of the track listing on the project, it’s obvious that Bassrush isn’t fucking around. With hometown heroes like Kronology, Soothslayer, and Consouls holding it down alongside Prolix, Oolacile, NastyNasty, SQUNTO, Minnesota, Tsuruda, PROKO, Chee, Herobust, Boogie T—and the list goes on and on—it’s a proper festival lineup in its own right!
“It’s an honor to release a track on the label of one of the best party throwers of the US,” says our favorite spaghetti monster, Spag Heddy. “My contribution to the album, ‘Get to U,’ is a cheesy, melodic old-school Spag Heddy style track in a fresh 2K18 jacket. I’m stoked to have gotten to this point where I feel like I’ve established myself enough to be comfortable trying out these mixes, as they are not the typical mainstage material. And I would never have even gotten to where I am today without Bassrush’s support!”
The hard-hitting yakz seems to have taken a similar approach to flexing for the LP, as he tells us his tune “Add Some Spice” was not only inspired by his homie Al Ross’ “Add Some Sugar,” but is a spicier take on the vibe that’s “different from the stuff I’ve recently put out. Definitely expect more tunes like this to come!”
But when it comes to the final word on the project, we have to leave it to the don himself, Caspa, as his aptly titled “F YOU” is “exactly as it sounds. F YOU and your bait dubstep tunes. This one’s straight outta da underground!”
