Bijou Lays It Down Ghetto-House Style With “Do Not Disturb”
Bijou is an artist we’ve got a lot of fondness for, as a DJ/producer who really knows how to shake things up. And he’s set to do exactly that this weekend at Nocturnal Wonderland. The Phoenix-based artist is also fresh from a recent appearance on Insomniac Records alongside Dr. Fresch, and he’s just a few short days away from unleashing his four-track Super Phat EP on AC Slater’s Night Bass imprint, one of the buzziest bass-heavy house labels around right now. Today, we’re previewing its heaviest cut, “Do Not Disturb.”
Boasting both a pumping drive and a dash of menace, the track shows him juggling dancefloor-friendly bass house antics with a darker edge. Impressively, “Do Not Disturb” sees Bijou striking an even 50/50 split. Brimming over with his trademark ghetto house style, its pitched-down rap and hip-hop synths lock in with a polished (and slamming) tech house groove.
Available September 14 via Night Bass.
