Cut Snake Reshapes Tenova’s “Pump It Up” Into a Stuttering Tech Tool
Punching well above his weight, Pittsburgh-based newcomer Tenova is an impressive young talent who is somewhat of a well-kept tech house secret at this point in his career. He’s just come through with a monster debut on Country Club Disco, the label headed up by Golf Clap. On top of his own single, “Pump It Up,” Tenova has pulled together two masters of the underground to round out the package. Today, we’ve got the lock on Cut Snake’s walloping remix.
“Super pumped to have worked on a remix for Tenova,” Cut Snake tells Insomniac. “And super, super pumped it’s on my homies Golf Clap’s label! They have been putting out all sorts of quality shit lately! Yeow.”
Doing what he does best, the Aussie groove technician switches up the vibe and replaces Tenova’s weighty framework with a punchy, stuttering delivery. The bassline jumps right out in front of the shuffling affair, as Cut Snake expertly weaves a net of synth stabs and vocal clips around the beat to create an intensely body-moving rework.
Available July 29 via Country Club Disco.
