Dakar Delivers a Deep and Groovy Roller With “Red Cup” Alongside Solo Tamas
The summer season is hitting high gear, which means the heat is sweltering and the Ibiza residencies are fully fired up—and Toolroom definitely knows it. One of house music’s enduring labels, the crew is so hooked into the White Isle party season that they’re dropping the Toolroom Ibiza Vol. 2 compilation at the end of this week. The album is jam-packed with a massive 65 tracks, plus three full-length DJ mixes, and we’ve gotten our hands on one of the punchier cuts from the package.
Dakar is a Brazilian name in house that’s on the rise, and he has now paired up with fellow DJ/producer and vocalist, Solo Tamas. With “Red Cup,” he delivers a functional tech house roller that’s got its gears set to “deep,” built from the ground up to put some “oomph” into a set. From the first drop, Dakar shows he means business, as thunderous rolling basslines and stuttering, chopped-up vocal work, courtesy of Tamas, give the track its catchy edge.
Available August 4 via Toolroom.
