Flatmate Goes Straight-Up G in the Rhythm With “Waves”
The fiery French duo known as Flatmate are back to drop some serious power onto the dancefloor. This round sees them leaning hard into G-house for the Punks Music crew. Titled “Waves,” this track does not mess around with its peak-time energy.
Right out of the gate, a body-moving four-on-the-floor house beat mixes into the sounds of 808s and string chords. Telltale pitched vocals cry out over the rise and fall of tight snares, until the whole beast drops into a hands-in-the-air bassline. While the track keeps this steady rhythm rolling along, Flatmate leaves room for some deep, cut-time breakdowns that rattle with trunk-shaking power before launching off once again.
“Waves” is tight and precise, while staying fun and catchy at the same time. It’s got just enough hooks and solid flows to keep an audience invested from beginning to end, and even though it has quiet moments, Flatmate have clearly set their sights on a banger with this one.
