Flowidus Packs Futuristic Funk Vibes Into Heavy Stepper “Pocket Drop”
Since their debut release in 2016, the dynamic duo known as Flowidus have burst onto the scene with a fury. Harnessing a wide-ranging sound design meant to please heads from almost all walks of life, while also evolving their technical approach through each release, Flowidus have rightfully earned recognition from some of the largest names in the drum & bass sphere, from Pendulum to Andy C. More recently, though, the Aussie pair have signed exclusively to Friction’s Elevate Records imprint, a move that can only further slingshot their status in the D&B arena.
Kicking off 2019 in full force, Flowidus unveil a quality cut called “Pocket Drop,” which today arrives with the second installment of the Quadrant compilation EP series on Elevate. Opening up with a euphoric introduction that’s paired neatly with hypnotizing vocals, the hook immediately takes hold while teasing a treat that lies just beyond the horizon. Soon enough, a furious drop fights its way to the forefront to create a delirious dream of funky drum & bass that spotlights those heavy futuristic funk vibes on which Flowidus have built their name.
Available February 22 via Elevate Records.
