Fono Calls on Strong Cast for “Feet on the Ground” Remix EP on Insomniac Records
The focus has been locked on rising UK producer Fono since he first stormed onto the set with his breakout tune “Real Joy.” He’s been handling business between then and now, with his latest single, “Feet on the Ground,” having gotten impressive lift in the months it has been in circulation. It’s certainly caused the excitement for his forthcoming Kinetic EP to crash through the roof. Ahead of its release on Insomniac Records/Polydor, Fono has called upon a strong cast of remixers to roll the aforementioned bit in their own respective flavors.
Each of the contributors on the package repurposes the effervescent vibe from the original and veers it in an entirely new direction. Ivy Lab slows the tempo down to a disengaging pace, adding in tempered bass hits and leisurely layered synths. Taking the opposite route is Adesse Versions, who ramps up the pace and incorporates swinging, stretched-out textures throughout.
Punctual shows up with a feel-good take, echoing the vocal hook over ebullient chord progressions and easygoing riffs. The drumwork featured on GotSome’s version is ace, as they lace the bubbly lead with heavy-handed, militant percussive hits. Closing things out is Franc Moody, who wails on the guitar to make a funk-in-the-trunk rework that rides out in style. All five remixes are up for grabs now, so hit up your platform of choice to start digging in.
