We’re only days away from the triumphant return of Audiotistic. Throughout the festival’s prestigious history, it has featured cutting-edge artists in both hip-hop and dance music. In celebration of the convergence of these two worlds, we have a funky, star-studded b2b exclusive mix from two of our Audiotistic Bay Area up-and-comers, Dombresky and Point Point.

Rising Parisian producer Dombresky came into the game swingin’ for the fences. His first-ever DJ set was at a Tchami & Friends showcase in Paris, and among his early releases was “Freakin,” a collaboration with the head honcho for his ubiquitous Confession label. Earlier this year, Insomniac Records unleashed Dombresky’s low-end club stomper “Technikal” as the debut release for its newly launched IN / ROTATION sublabel. Fresh off an Up All Night guest spot on the most recent episode of Night Owl Radio, Dombresky is clearly living out a banner year.

Among Dombresky’s first 16 Twitter followers were the founding members of Point Point, the widely venerated French group that has made its mark in the hip-hop-influenced sound of future bass. Their debut release, “Life in Grey,” was paired with a hauntingly artistic short film, which sat in stark contrast to the tune’s bright mood. The trio’s latest release, “Hands,” is slow-burning, emotive funk. It sees them following the trend with yet another video that marries thought-provoking imagery with their upbeat music.

Dombresky and Point Point are repping the true spirit of Audiotistic with this wicked mix, which finds a perfect union within their distinct, bumping styles via thumping, funky beats, classic house swagger, and throwback vibes.
