Get Ready for Middlelands With This Curated Playlist From Keys N Krates
There is more to Keys N Krates than meets the eye. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, the trio began as a live hip-hop band reliant on raw c and remixes. They’ve since evolved into a tight-knit live electronic group composed of turntablist Jr Flo, keyboardist David Matisse and drummer Adam Tune. Fusing hip-hop, trap, and UK bass, the three have crafted an organic sound like no other, quickly becoming a festival favorite around the world. You won’t want to miss their set at Middlelands, and between us, you may hear some new music from their forthcoming album.
From their breakthrough heavy hitter “Dum Dee Dum” to their melodic, bass-concentrated single “Right Here” with KRANE, Keys N Krates transcends modern electronic music, mixing and matching chopped vocals into hypnotic drops backed by hefty 808s and perfectly timed hi-hats.
Where medieval imagination meets modern-day festival culture, one might ask thyself, “What the hell should I expect at Middlelands?” “[We’re] picturing knights dancing to house music for some reason. Is that accurate?” Keys N Krates jokingly tells us. Here’s to hoping all three members come to Middlelands completely decked out in shining knight armor.
Ahead of their performance at the inaugural Middlelands, Keys N Krates dropped off this jam-packed playlist for your grooving pleasure. Smash that play button over and over again.
The first-ever Middlelands takes place Friday, May 5, through Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the Texas Renaissance Festival Fair Grounds in Todd Mission, TX. For more information, visit the official website.
