Ken Loi Drops “Serendipity,” Another Silky-Smooth Vocal House Offering
San Fran producer Ken Loi is already on the radar after previous singles “Tangible” and “Hollow” were picked up and released on Kaskade’s label, Arkade—finding a kindred spirit in the US DJ/producer veteran, in terms of having a knack for meshing singer-songwriting with proper dancefloor vibes. Loi is back and going it alone this time around with his own self-released “Serendipity.”
Again, it’s clear why Kaskade took such a liking to our man Loi. All the same excellent qualities are on display here: smooth beats, melodic sensibilities, and a singer-songwriter’s approach to the arrangements, with some fine vocals courtesy of Luma.
“I’m really happy how this record turned out with Luma,” Loi tells Insomniac. “She sent me a few demos initially, and this one connected with me the most. One late night in the studio, and I had an almost completed concept in the morning already. It’s just crazy how sometimes a record can be born that fast, and other times it could take months, years, or never!”
