Kim Anh Channels a Swirl of Sexy Acid Funk on “Pleasure”

Los Angeles’ Kim Anh has been a long-running staple of her city’s underground scene. She’s a promoter-turned-producer, who can now regularly be caught behind the decks at some of the coolest local warehouse spots. This Friday, she’s got a rather large project dropping in the form of her new Pleasure EP, which is being issued by the Good for You Records crew. While the list of remixers she’s recruited are eye-popping on their own—including DFA’s Juan MacLean, along with Craig Williams and Tim K—Anh doesn’t hold back on the seductiveness on either of her two originals.

“Pleasure” is the cut chilling on the B-side, and it certainly lives up to its title. It’s an acid-soaked number, featuring plenty of Anh’s sultry vocals, plus a groovy electro bassline that’ll see it slot right into one of her late-night warehouse sets. Make sure you dim the lights before you fire this one up.
