Klax and Enei Crack Skulls on “Scraps”
Critical Music continues to push drum & bass into fresh territory with this dystopian-driven cut from label stalwarts Klax and Enei. While both producers are able to smash it up on their own, the pairing of these two beat scientists results in a skull-cracking excursion through the underbelly of some futuristic, tech-tinged world gone bad.
Centered on a funky groove sticking and moving in concert with a swirling atmosphere, it’s the vocal hook at the core that establishes this one as an essential key in staying alive in an “urban jungle.” If you like your dancefloor beats on the hypnotic tip with some filthy darkness lurking at the edges, this one’s a proper teaser that should prepare you for the full power the pair are kicking on their Questions EP, from which “Scraps” is taken.
Available January 18 via Critical Music.
