Maddy O’Neal and Dreamers Delight Release “Valkyrie” Into the Atmosphere

Gramatik’s Lowtemp camp comes correct once again with this deep and heavy fusion of glitch-tinged future dub featuring Maddy O’Neal and Dreamers Delight in collab mode. The aptly titled “Valkyrie” is an almost mythic exploration of that dark and heady space where the dancefloor meets the dream world. From the fresh future bass shivers to the hypnotic, electric sizzle that winds its way throughout the entire track, the call and response between the elements not only brings on the goosebumps, but coupled with subtle melodic shifts and downtempo transitions, this is one of those tunes that’s sure to bring on the late-night heartbreak.

“This track is definitely one of my favorites—especially live,” O’Neal tells Insomniac. “I feel like Reed and my styles blended together so well. That’s the coolest part about these collaborations: You get to feed off of so many parts of your creative process and vision with someone else’s.”

“Our styles came together really well and created a euphoric, energetic track,” adds Dreamers Delight.

Both have been blazing unique paths of their own these past few years, and the collab is a nice intersection of their transcendent and eclectic sound. With just enough left-field lean to keep the synapses on edge, the chill factor never overwhelms what is ostensibly a dancefloor track at the core.
