Damian Lazarus’ London-based Crosstown Rebels has more than 15 years of history serving up high-class house and techno to ravers around the world. This Friday, it’s giving some release love to Germany’s Emanuel Satie for his extra-special Addis Ababa EP, named for the Ethiopian city and inspired by the producer’s world travels.

The EP, which Satie calls an “homage to worldwide collaboration,” saw him recording with traditional musicians during his travels and then bringing those sounds with him back to Berlin. One of its musical treats is “Aergew Neka,” featuring fellow German Mowgan on co-production duties, as well as the evocative Afro-themed vocals of Endalk and Wude.

Today, we’re previewing the EP’s remix from the mighty Matador, a techno talent favored by labels like M_nus and Perc Trax; this rework makes the most of the rich global palette he’s given to work with. It’s a pulsing affair that carefully weaves the gorgeous vocals over a driving techno groove, before dipping it a vat of delicious 303 acid as the remix climbs toward its zenith.

Available October 12 via Crosstown Rebels.
