Maximono Flips Go Freek’s “Time” Into a Synapse-Sizzling Tech Stomper

After laying low for a brief stint, Aussie duo Go Freek returned to the playing field with some new secret sauce in the shape of their latest single, “Time.” The tech house slammer has been bopping around the club circuit like crazy since it first showed up on Sweat It Out! Music last month. And like most grade-A bits tend to do, it’s crept into the personal folders of choice selectors, such as Anna Lunoe, Don Diablo, Treasure Fingers, and a few other au courant selectors who were smart enough to pick it up for their own sets.

Maximono—the masterminds behind the limitless This Ain’t Bristol imprint—are on the next watch now, as they rewire Go Freek’s tune into a slice of synapse-sizzling house.

“We really took our ‘TIME’ to deliver this remix, but we’re more than happy with the result,” Maximono tells Insomniac. “Always a pleasure to work for our Australian friends. It’s such a stunning country where TIME clearly isn’t the most important thing. Cannot wait to go back there ASAP.”

It’s all too obvious the Maxi men gave this record the proper attention it deserved, because the outcome is a stroke of perfectly timed genius. They take the lead synth from the original and butter it up with their shuffling drums, time-stretching fills, gooey padlines, and that signature tech tumble that has placed Maximono in a league of their own.
