Ninetoes Breaks Away With Stripped-Down Tech Belter “Be”
In a few short years, Germany’s Ninetoes went from being a low-key hip-hop producer to one of the most treasured gems in the tech house circuit. He’s already landed releases on quality imprints such as Saved, Kling Klong, Mobilee, and Second State, but he has never strayed too far away from one of his earliest adopters, Moon Harbour. Later this week, he’s returning for his third EP with them in three years with his new Stand Up EP, which also features remixes from label boss Matthias Tanzmann and groove genius Harvard Bass.
“Be” is the lead cut on the release, and it’s unlike anything we’ve heard from Ninetoes up to this point. He breaks away beautifully on this stripped-backed tech house offering, which shows him operating with much more restraint while taking his time building into hasty snare phrases, triplet kicks, palpitating textures, and a vocal hook that gets the message across in a clear and concise manner. If this is his next direction as an artist, then his toes are certainly pointed in the right place.
Available March 23 via Moon Harbour.
