Oscar G Reworks His David Morales Matchup With Percussive Remix of “Orisha”
Hector Romero returns to the Nervous stable to helm the second installment of its Weaving Genres compilation album series. The NYC house music veteran is taking on the release’s curating duties, using his time-tested acumen to stack the track list with enough house music royalty to pack out the Paradise Garage. It features exclusives from David Morales, Oscar G, Satoshi Tomiie, and beyond. We’re keen to bask in some of the compilation’s limelight, so we’re bringing the Oscar G re-rub of “Orisha” as our Track of the Day.
“The Weaving Genres compilation series caters to the home listener and to the cutting-edge DJ who are always looking for new and upfront music,” says Romero.
Oscar G’s remix of his collaboration with David Morales, “Orisha,” appears on the compilation, and it’s a percussive affair, to say the very least. From its opening moments, the tribal drumming weaves heavily and rhythmically over the four-four beat, only building in intensity as its appropriately themed vocal slowly shimmies into the spotlight. There are Afro vibes aplenty, woven from the hands of a true house music craftsman.
Available April 5 via Nervous.
