Point.Blank Takes Aim at the Dancefloor With Irie-Tinged “Roll Up”
Dubstep and all-around bassbin juggernaut Buygore Records drops the hammer once again as it locks in five bottom-end burners from the Belgium-based Point.Blank for a highly anticipated EP. Having put in mad work on Buygore’s sister imprint, Fresh Blood, Point.Blank wastes no time getting right to the heart of the matter with his Lurking EP, flexing his untouchable sound design and filth-ridden vision on each of the cuts. But mostly it’s the irie-tinged “Roll Up” that has us up in arms here at Insomniac HQ. From the slow-burning groove at the core, to the face-melting percussive punch that drives it all home, this one features Point.Blank in top form as he storms his way into 2018.
“I loved working on this EP,” Point.Blank tells Insomniac. “In my opinion, it’s the best dubstep I’ve produced to date.”
When asked about the new sense of energy we feel bubbling beneath the surface on this one, Point.Blank agrees he not only “switched up my style and updated it to 2018,” but goes all-in on an “old-school meets new-school” vibe that can’t be fucked with.
For the true heads out there, “Roll Up” has been a coveted release for quite some time now, as it’s been rinsing dancefloors across the globe, being dropped on the masses via some of the biggest names in the scene. Snatch your copy of the full Lurking EP when it drops this Friday on Buygore—and be sure to bolt down any heavy objects and fortify the foundation of your dome. This one’s coming to wreck shop, with “Roll Up” leading the way.
Available January 26 via Buygore.
