Ray Okpara’s Midas-Touched Remix of FilOu’s “Essex Playground”

Since establishing itself back in 2012, Daniele Casa’s underground dance label eMBi has charted a course across dance music toward deep, dubby, and minimal house. Their latest release comes from German producer FilOu, aka Philipp Erhart, who delivers two solid minimal-driven cuts on the Crossover EP.

On today’s Track of the Day, the B-side track, “Essex Playground,” gets the VIP treatment from Mobilee affiliate Ray Okpara, who adds his own personal Midas touch of signature elastic tech to the stripped-down, dubbed-out rework.

“I got the original from FilOu and liked it instantly,” Okpara tells Insomniac. “Was able to make a rmx for him, ‘cause I had time and wasn’t working on loads of my own stuff. Turned out to be a deeper and more beat-oriented remix, which works very good on vinyl. Can’t wait till I have it in my hands.”
