There was no way we weren’t about to go all out for EDC’s big 20-year jamboree. It’s sort of a big deal around these parts, which is why Insomniac Records made the call to link up with Interscope to draw out its first ever EDC Las Vegas compilation.

Over the course of a week, the Recs squad has been drip-feeding the release’s contents out to the public, leaving behind a trail of beats all leading to the various stages waiting to be explored at the festival next week. They’ve tapped a few selectors in their close circle to put the sounds of the Carnival on blast, with a track list name-checking artists from the likes of Seven Lions, Rusko, 12th Planet, Gladiator and more.

“Saint and I used to be in a group chat and thought it’d be fun to link up and work on a track,” says Astronomar. “‘Jinu’ is the result of a few hours in my studio, lots of lols, enchiladas, and pure not carin’. We had fun making it, which comes across in its quirky yet energetic vibe. Enjoy!”

My Digital Enemy has turned in a certified weapon, too. “Great to be on board, and looking forward to big things this year with our new Insomniac team,” they tell Insomniac.

“EDC will always have a warm place in my heart,” says Craig Williams, who served up a crisp, acid-tinged bit. “The opportunity to meet and eventually work with some of my favorite DJs would never have been a possibility if I hadn’t been welcomed into the EDC universe. Now that EDC is celebrating its 20th anniversary, this is an especially momentous time to be a part of this uniquely awesome festival.”

Holding it down on the trance tip is John Askew. “I’ve played a number of Insomniac events over the years, and they’re by far the grandest, best organized, and most fun events on the planet,” he claims. “It’s great to now be involved in the relaunch of the label, and stoked that my track ‘Short Fuse’ made it onto the EDC Vegas album. It’s very refreshing to see an album cover all genres of electronic dance music, and I’m happy to be representing the growing trance movement.”

“When I wrote this song, it was so loud my neighbors complained,” says AWE of his quirky and chirpy bass offering. “Make sure you play it loud enough that yours complain, too.”

The 24-track album brings a little something-something for everyone, a thorough representation of the genres and subgenres being brought out to the Speedway. After a week’s worth of exclusive listens bubbling up to the surface, the comp is finally ready to stream until your ears give out.

Cop the compilation to get primed for the party, and hit up upside-downHOUSE on Friday and Saturday to kick it right with the Insomniac Records fam.
