Alan Fitzpatrick’s Flip of Sabb and Serge Devant’s “Waiting” Is Dark Techno Art
Alan Fitzpatrick is a master of techno’s mesmerizing dark arts. Following up his quiver of well-crafted releases for labels like Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Hotflush and Cocoon, the UK journeyman has turned his considerable talents toward reworking “Waiting,” a standout cut from the debut release of Sabb and Serge Devant’s Waiting EP on London’s Circus Recordings.
As you’d expect, the cocktail-sipping house sound of the original gets smithed into a lean, mean techno weapon for the peak-hour underground club. It’s minimal and trancey and best heard loud on a quality system—everything you’ve come to expect from Fitzy. Check it out below, and be sure to catch him at upcoming holiday events like Berlin’s infamous Berghain/Panorama Bar on December 17 and Edinburgh, Scotland’s Liquid Room with Jackmaster on New Year’s Eve.
Available December 5 via Circus Recordings.
