Cyantific Tackles Throwback Vibe on Ripping D&B Number “Back Off”

Cyantific has an early Christmas present for the drum & bass community, and it arrives in the form of his 100 percent fire track “Back Off.” This brief but impactful offering has been bouncing around for a minute now, imprinting itself on all who hear it, including making an appearance on Viper Recordings fam Matrix & Futurebound’s Spotify playlist. Unapologetic and in your face, “Back Off” is more aggressive than expected, yet with an underscore of funkiness.

“I was going for that ‘97-ish sound—stuff like ‘Where’s Jack the Ripper,’ ‘Mind Overload’ and even ‘Shadow Boxing,’” Cyantific tells Insomniac. “That vibe, but modern.”

The gnarly basslines of this ripping number hint at exciting things to come from Cyantific’s debut album, set for release in 2017.
