Dilby Brings Fiery House Soul on “Dance to the Rhythm”
Berlin by way of New Zealand champ Dilby has been making quite a few waves of late, and his upcoming release on Mother Recordings is sure to add only more ripples to the tide. Hot off the Work That Body EP comes the deep thumper “Dance to the Rhythm.” It’s a low-end tech house banger that rolls in, giving the illusion of a cold warehouse jam before old-school house percussions heat the ice up. From there, it’s just a quick jump into some rich vocals to fully fan the flames.
“Dance to the Rhythm” sees Dilby picking up classic tools of the trade and really rinsing them for all they’re worth. Though simple and breezy, this track is as captivating as it is catchy. Everyone from old heads to new kids will find something to instantly grab onto here. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that there’s a low and steady dynamic tension that keeps bodies moving along to the shifting soundscape. What you end up with is a track that isn’t really a deep number, but isn’t a big-room banger either. This is an artful crafting of just enough of each end of the spectrum to create a fully energized, sweat-inducing chunk of house.
Available April 17 via Mother Recordings.
