Eskai Breaks Down His Own Artistic Barriers With “Tides”

A Silk Music release is unfailingly packed with the type of chill vibes we could use more of in dance music, and San Francisco–based beatsmith Eskai has stepped outside of his own musical boundaries to construct an EP that fits the label like a glove.

Usually applying his skills to Myon and Shane 54’s Ride Recordings with anthemic trance cuts, he’s exploring new territory with the instrumental “Tides.” The first of two tracks on the EP, “Tides” is embodied by a lush chord progression and bassline, joined by a soft lead melody midway through. This new step in Eskai’s journey is hopefully not the last time he decides to journey down the deeper side of dance music.
