Gettoblaster Channels Ghetto House With Trunk-Rattler “Do the Bobby Brown”
Even if their to-the-point bio didn’t claim a strict upbringing in the Chicago and Detroit scenes, the influence heard on every Gettoblaster track is hard to ignore. The duo have been supplying some of the hardest-knocking beats to have hit the streets lately, and their urban-laced output is about to take over more digital tape decks with their next outing on Treasure Finger’s ever-eclectic Pyscho Disco! imprint.
On the flip of their two-tracker, Find My UFO, is an ode to where these dudes first came up. “‘Do the Bobby Brown’ is our take on modern-day ghetto house,” Gettoblaster tells Insomniac. “With us coming from the Chicago/Detroit warehouse scene, we aim to infuse new-school sounds with warehouse-style trax. The phrase ‘Get Bobby Brown with it’ is purely street slang for ‘let me see your best dance moves right now.’” With its trunk-rattling low-end and all the realness a synth lead could ever handle, this bad boy won’t have a problem getting people to put their best leg forward.
