Harry Judda Keeps It Stripped Back With “Drunky”
Shadow Child and Kry Wolf are now several years into their Food Music imprint, and they’re kicking off 2017 with a stripped-back weapon from Harry Judda, who’s building on the foundation he’s established with releases on Dirtybird and Skream’s Of Unsound Mind imprint.
A wonky, minimal groove to “Drunky” recalls some of those particularly twisted 3am dancefloor sessions that tend to live on in your memories, and its looped vocal samples imbue it with a particularly hypnotic vibe. He’s also locked things down sufficiently with a pulsing house groove that’ll mean it won’t have any troubles keeping the floor moving.
“That track was one of the first projects I completed after moving my studio to London last year,” Judda tells Insomniac. “I think if you’ve been following my music, you’d be able to pick up on my signature type of sound and style within the track. Big thanks to Shadow Child, who’s been supporting my music for a couple of years and giving me the opportunity to release on a label that has been a favourite of mine for a long time, and being able to join all the great artists that have been involved with Food Music.”
Available February 24 via Food Music.
