Illyus & Barrientos’ House Sizzler “Heart of Stone”

Without a doubt, lllyus & Barrientos are the odd couple of Glaswegian dance music. Combined by Glasgow Underground’s Kevin McKay, their individual backgrounds (one in the local hip-hop scene, while the other was still taking classical piano lessons) make them an unlikely creative pair.

Yet, put them together in a studio, and they have an uncanny knack for churning out the sort of floor-filling, big-room house bangers that have propelled them to fame and fortune in modern club circles.

Case in point is their latest single, “Heart of Stone” for BBC Radio 1 host Monki’s signature label, Zoo Music. The up-front track delivers frazzled vocal snippets and gruff drums that bounce along to the infectious groove. Top jocks like Skream, Richy Ahmed, and Jackmaster are sure to be caning this one all summer long. Stream “Heart of Stone” below now.
