It was only a matter of time before Juliet Sikora sacked her first solo outing. As one of the core members of Tube & Berger’s Kittball crew, and having recently climbed the charts through collabs with Wild Culture and label bosses T&B, she already holds an admirable presence in the scene. So why on earth would she dare stop there?

Next week, Sikora is set to storm in with an old-school-stirred two-tracker, Larrys Garage, in which she sings her praises to New York’s iconic Paradise Garage. It’s every bit of what the club would have repped before it closed its doors for good, and it deserves a tip of the hat for keeping Larry Levan’s legacy alive. She does so by offering up a ‘90s-informed house hit flowing with Jocelyn Brown’s divalicious vocals that preach word to crowd-clamoring samples, funk-filled riffs, and deep-in-the-night basslines. Too soon to call it a classic? I didn’t think so.

Available May 26 via Kittball Records.

If you were to describe this track as a scent, a signature fragrance as it were, what would it be called? If it were to have a tagline, what would it be?
Levan’s Paradise—“Feel the Groove.”

Did you discuss or exchange ideas with other producers while creating this track?
Of course, we are doing it in our Kittball family circle with Tube & Berger, Paji and P.A.C.O. We always exchange ideas, and the opinion from the other is very important and a crucial part of the creation process.

Was there one particular moment in the recording or mixing process of this track that made you feel as though you were creating something pretty damn special?
The best moment was when King Brain and I did the final mixing. I couldn’t sit still on the chair, because my body wanted to dance!

What’s the takeaway here? Is there a message or vibe you hope to get across to listeners?
I grew up with the ‘90s house sound, packed with vocals, so house music is deep-seated in my heart. My idea was to kick back the old-school house feeling; that track has to sound like it could have been pulled straight from a night at the Garage.

If this song were a color, what color would it be?
I would call it a rainbow. 😉
